YouTube Shorts Gets a Boost with AI Video Clips

YouTube is rolling out an exciting new feature for Shorts creators. Thanks to Google DeepMind’s Veo 2, you can now generate entire video clips with the help of AI. Previously, YouTube’s Dream Screen only let you create AI-powered backgrounds using text prompts. With Veo 2, you get to create whole scenes that you can mix into your Shorts.

According to YouTube’s product director, Dina Berrada, this update makes the process faster and the videos look more realistic. Veo 2 has been designed to understand real-world physics and human movement, meaning you can even choose different styles or cinematic effects to suit your vibe. To keep things transparent, all videos created with this tool will have a special watermark using DeepMind’s SynthID, clearly indicating they’re AI-generated.

This new feature is now live for creators in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans to expand to more regions soon. It’s a fun and simple way to add creative flair to your Shorts and express yourself in fresh new ways.
